The Aussie Diggers History
This clan has seen many changes over the years and has been known by other names. Many members have come and gone so have websites, even after some internal turmoil we still remain strong with a core group of members that are dedicated to growing the clan both in stature and numbers. It was thought beneficial to give people an understanding of how long the clan has been around and the reasons for why the various personifications disbanded, you may have played with us in the past
AOW (All out War) circa 2005
The first version of the clan, this clan unlike the current [AD] was multi national. We discovered Teamspeak and used it for the good tool it is and dominated many a public server. Many members were based in America as was the hosting of the site and TS. The clan was disbanded because a hacker got hold of the clan info and harassed members and spammed the Teamspeak
FLC (Front Line Combat) circa 2006
Again a multi national server, though it was determined over a period of time that the time difference was an issue. The ping we experienced during scrims or on public servers were not conducive to good play. Many members were inactive for long periods of time and so we decided to start afresh.
[AD] Aussie Diggers – the first version circa 2006
Aussie Diggers started with a core group which originated in AOW and a successful recruitment drive saw us reach 65 members at one stage however many of these did not remain active and a purge was instigated. We had our baptism of fire in scrims and made a good account of ourselves against in many cases clans bigger than ourselves and were outnumbered on many occasions 2 or 3 to 1. Our leaders at the time were ex AOW members Dealz, Will Young, Dilbert, Fullysick, Chillay14 and Rarecraft. The clan disbanded temporarily as the server/sponsor of the site crashed.
[AD] Aussie Diggers – the second version circa 2006 – current
Many members left the clan in this transition phase mainly due to the fact that many of the long term consistent players had achieved high rank and were becoming bored or were starting to play other games like 2142. We had no permanent home and a temporary site was launched in Leu of a new hosted site. Many members left as the patience wore thin as it took too long and in the end didn’t eventuate. All this time the core group kept playing but the numbers were dwindling as we had no Teamspeak channel to help us communicate autonomously in battle, teamwork began to suffer and morale dropped to a new low. Just as we thought we would disappear we found a Teamspeak channel and started to actively recruit again we were on a high and new blood started to flow in again the foundations were set for us to become what we were always destined to be . It was during this time that development of a new site to replace the temporary was investigated. This was to make a home of our own and the services of Ice scorpion designs were employed.
The [AD] Story Continues
The Ice Scorpion Designs site was found to be unstable at times and high maintenance, the host decided that he was unable to continue the maintenance of the site. There was a cost factor which the financial clan membership could not sustain on an ongoing basis. As a result it was decided to start from scratch with a local domain name which would identify us as an Australian Clan. http://aussiediggers.com.au shows that we are serious about our intent to keep this clan growing and expanding in the future. The clan website and forums are hosted by our own [AD] Chinno and are under development by [AD] JentlemanJack with the assistance of [AD] Rarecraft. Many members past and present have registered their intent to stay on in this new phase of [AD] and even some old members from the original All Out War are re appearing. The clan leadership is excited about this new era of Aussie Diggers as we are becoming self sufficient in using our members skills and facilities. The leadership group has once again become stable with long serving members [AD] Chinno, [AD] Jentlemanjack and [AD] Rarecraft again taking the reins. Recruitment Officer Roles are being performed by [AD] ThatLankykid and [AD] Yourmum2b. Further positions will be developed shortly as the website develops and more members join
